With the recent confirmation of Marvel Rivals confirmed release date -- I may as well admit it, I will play anything with a superhero in it. A big corner stone of the my YouTube brand has always been the cross-seciton between my love of comics and video games -- and Superhero games are the ultimate representation of that. However, it is staring to exstend beyond the more obvious choices, outside of Insomniac Spider-Man and the Arkham trilogy.
Firstly, there is the aformentioned Marvel Heroes which is shaped up to be more than a hero skinned Overwatch clone. The beta for the hero shooter had more than 50,000 players on its first day alone, an impressive feat for a game that, at that time didnt have a release date.
Marvel Rivals recently dropped launch release trailer also included gameplay reveals for Captain America and The Winter Soldier. Between the unstoppable power of the Marvel IP along with the games' beauitiful art style its going to draw alot of superhero fans in. On top of that, the trailer reminded us that it is free to play, with all heroes unlocked at launch. This also comes hot This also comes hot on the heels of the latest Marvel Fortnite Collaboration for Season 5, Ultimate Doom.
The update brings the titular Doctor Doom, and a host of Marvel Items like Captain America's shield and Wolverine's Claws. Season 5 also introduces iconic Marvel locations like Castle Doom and THE RAFT.
Finally, there is the long awaited Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection -- finally gracing us with the home releases of the Marvel Vs. line of arcade fighters. While this game doesnt currently have a release date, a leaked retailer listing seems to indicate it might see a release this November. Hype for these properties seems to show the endurance of the Marvel IP -- even when its not tied to their MCU counterparts.
